IPS vs TN Refresh rates and Response time?

I've read a lot of places that IPS has slower response time and refresh rate but would there be any difference if both the IPS and TN panel were 60hz and 5ms response time? Thanks.

Solution
TN= faster refresh rates and response times like 144hz or 1ms (better for gaming by most peoples opinions)
IPS= better color and viewing angles (also the type of panel most mobile devices use)
VN= slightly better that TN (using logic I thing that asus's VN seires uses VN)
PLS= slightly better that ips (possibly not as common as VN)
Personally I like ips more for the better colors.

Hope this helped,

Thanks but what I was wondering is would there be a difference between a 60hz 5ms TN Monitor and a 60hz 5ms IPS Monitor.

Aside from color and weighing angles I don't think so, so get the ips, though if you want the faster response tines get a faster refresh rate

Technically the answer is yes...

Hopefully the TN monitor cost about the same as a loaf of bread as you would be sacrificing the high refresh rate which would be the only viable reason for losing the colour accuracy of it IPS/PLS counterparts.

Debatable... Also I have never seen an 120hz IPS anywhere near that price range.
