This build isn't necessarily 100% cost effective but I am not really concerned about that. I was going for a build that will last me quite a while and have a good upgrade path. I will be SLIing when the prices drop! Remember it's Canadian so it is about $200 over priced compared to the US' prices. Thanks for your thoughts :)

I wouldn't use the ASUS gtx 970, get the EVGA superclocked ACX gtx 970 for a better cooling and clock speed. Apart from that, looking good, maybe for the cpu cooler, replace your one with the Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO? It is a reliable and really great cpu cooler. If you are overclocking, great choice of cpu, but if you aren't just get the i7 4790, it isn't worth it otherwise, and the new i7 5820k is around $50 more than the i7 4790k, but you might have to change your build to support it but it won't be that much more money if you are thinking about the latest parts.

Looks good if you are set for the white CPU cooler.
But you know what would make it better? Adding an SSD in there ;)

You can always get parts that are 10-20-50-100$ more expensive and better, if you choose to go down that path :D

But you`re set with this build, and it should serve you well for a long time.

@sparestuff I already own the CPU cooler because I got in on sale and fell in love with it. As for the 4790 and 4790k, the 4790k has different stock clock speeds as the 4790 or else I would get the 4790. I might do a little overclocking after a year or so once I get comfortable with the rig.

@Pr3di I will be getting an SSD during cyber monday. So I hope I can get a good deal on an 840 or M500 :)

*EDIT* just found out other stores are selling that GPU for way cheaper. PCPP is just not up to date.

I would rethink your cpu cooler. It's base plate design is not that good.
If you have any plans of overclocking please get another. Your cpu already is going to go to 4.4 GHZ.
Here is one for you:
