Hello, I have the Asus Maximus VII Hero and I'm currently experiencing an issue where if I talk in game or Ventrilo my microphone volume lowers until it fades out and then fades back in. Is this a drivers issue?

I have downloaded the latest drivers and do not know how to fix this. I also tested another headset and the problem persists.

Any help is appreciated,

I contacted Asus and they suggested reinstalling the drivers. Nothing changed.

They also suggested reinstalling my OS but I'm hesitant to do that with the amount of games I have installed.

I have tried a different microphone and the problem did not change. I ended up reinstalling Windows 8.1 and my microphone started working normally again.

However, the problem is back.

I do not know what to do to fix it other than I will be reinstalling Windows again once my SSD arrives. I do not have a USB headset that works to test but do not know if that would make any difference.
