I'm wondering if going to an R9 270x would be a worth while for a few years or should I overclock the 750ti till I can get a 290.

AMD Phenom 965BE (3.8ghz)
12 gig RAM 1600
GTX 750Ti
750w EVGA supernova PSU

Not worth at all to make this upgrade its a waste of money, wait until you can get a GTX 970. but you have to upgrade your CPU also if you wanna go to a high-end card

Sadly that is what I feared. Didn't want to go into a new build yet. If I can push my Cpu a bit more do you think overclocking the 750ti will yield anymore performance for the time being? Or would that be feeding the bottleneck? Just want to get every drop of power out of this PC until I upgrade

You can overclock your CPU a little bit more and GTX 750ti not gonna bottleneck this cpu is good for this card. Ofc you can overclock the GTX 750ti, use the MSI Afterburner and watch the temp. Keep it above 80 degrees.
