Hello everyone,

I recently got an older gaming computer and have been planning on updating it a tad (it will still be out of date of course). Anyhoo, I want to know what is the best video card I can put in this computer. This is mainly a question centering on my power supply. Here is the relevant information:

Mother board: Gigabyte GA-m57sli-s4
Processor (as soon as it comes in the mail): Athlon 64 x2 6400+
3 case fans and a large CPU fan
4 gigs of Ram

Power Supply: Xion Xon 500f8x2-201 (500 Watt with +12V1@18A, +12V2@20A)

Naturally, this whole issue of balancing watts, amps, and the 12v rail is rather confusing.

Thanks for the help!

Solution
Well, even with the bottleneck it should at least perform better than with the HD7750, so if budget is not a problem go ahead with the 750Ti.

I take it that with the Athlon 64 x2 6400+ most of the performance advantage of the 750ti will be lost? Would it still preform better, albeit less than it would with a more powerful CPU?
