I overclocked my 4670K to 4.2GHz at 1.2v and I'm getting max temperatures of 69 degrees with the Noctua NH-D14 while running RealBench. I've never overclocked before, so I don't know if these temperatures are normal. I used the EZ Tuner in the ROG Hero VII bios, making manual tweaks to the core voltage and multiplier.

I was wondering if these temperatures are normal for the Noctua NH-D14.

The ambient temperatures are around 24 degrees and fans are set to standard performance. I get an idle around 35 degrees. I don't think its the thermal paste, since I'm confident that I applied a proper amount, using MX-4

Haswell is notoriously known for getting very hot, even at stock.70C is still safe to run on Haswell. I'd go as high as 85C in gaming with Haswell. That's why some people started to delid them and replace the thermal paste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXs0I5kuoX4

I see...that's a shame. I guess I'll turn off overclock and enable it only during intense gaming.

De-lid it ;)

4670k 4.5@ 1.28v max p95 temps ~72c with antec h2o 1250(1500rpm), gaming its like 40-50c

I think i could put an extra 100-200mhz more
