Just wanted to make sure I have enough for the card before buying and potentially busting it from lack of power.

CPU: FX 8150
CPU cooler: H80i or H105, will use whichever is less depending on the card.

Also on another note, I'm currently waiting for them to release the FTW ACX 2.0 version of the 970. My question is, is it worth the wait/price increase for that performance boost versus say the SC or SSC version of the card. How big is the performance difference between them?

If it's a high quality 550 like an XFX, capstone , Seasonic , yes it's more than enough.

A GeForce GTX 970 needs 28 amps on the 12v + rail and a 500 watt power supply with 2 - 6 pin PCIE power connections.
