when I put a disc in my dvd-rom drive, samsung sd-616e, it will not run. Device manager says the driver is ok. Is there any

Does it recognize a CD? Do you have software to play a DVD?
I had issues with my Samsung drive and switched it out for a LiteOn and the issues went away.
