On starting up my new computer build with DVI attached, I get no video signal and therefore can't get to the BIOS screen. Only when I remove the DVI cable and attach HDMI can I get video.
I have a DVI-I dual link output from my new motherboard supporting up to 4k. I have a DVI-D (dual link) cable, and a DVI-D (dual link) monitor. I get no signal on my monitor when connected to my new computer. Monitor is Samsung syncmaster 2343. The monitor and cable combination work fine with my old computer (Zotac GeForce 9300-itx wifi) which has a dual link DVI(HDCP) output.
Any ideas on why the DVI-D cable and monitor won't get a signal from the DVI-I output on the new computer? I have tried 2 different motherboards (one from MSI and one from Gigabyte GA-H97N-wifi) and the same thing happens on both... no DVI output. But I do get HDMI output just fine. (and no, I did not have the HDMI cable hooked up when I was trying the DVI connection) .
Thanks.
