As the title says,

Is it still good if I just get an i7 4790 with gtx 760 or 770? are they still strong enough compare to 970?
So I can save money for the other stuff like the OS, keyboard...

1) i5 is capable of maxing out most games. And do you need to record?
2) They are still hanging on the side, but not very comparable.

actually I dont need to record but i still prefer an i7. So you meant right now gtx 970 is the best choice to go?
And about esco_sid's i7 build, is it possible if i upgrade to 16gb ram in the future. Do I need to upgrade the motherboard and power supply too?, I wont overclock anything.

Rather you get a R9 390(X) than an i7. It's extra, unnecessary performance.

at this moment yes gtx 970 is best choice and yes you can upgrade ram later on if you want to and wont need to upgrade power supply but like i said before its a better choice to go with the I5 the i7 does not really bring much to the table at drastically higher price.
