Hi! i am about to buy a new computer.
Im trying to use the power suply of my last computer in order to save some money (yes im a cheap bastard, but money is a consern for me right now).

I have a Vitsuba san-55-5 thats suposed to have real 550W it has about 6 years of use, and im sending it to be cleaned and tested.
(It concerns me that it might have lost some power beacause of the time past)
.
Question is, will 550W be enough for this components? and if it was a 550w but brand new?:

ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD FX 6300
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 270 2GB GDDR5
G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHZ

Thank you so much!!

550W is for showcasing, it should have what Amperes it could provide on 12V lines. If its good enough, I'm certain 550W is plenty for the build, either old or new.
Besides, if you're planning to OC, you'll need af cooler, if you don't plan to OC, I'd go the Intel way (i3).

What is the Ampere on each 12V line? like 16A or 18A or something like that.
You'll need aftermarket CPU cooler even for slight OCing.

You can't overclock with an old low quality power supply , it will fail.

Its fine Wattage wise, but as Blackbird said, you wouldn't want to OC on an old PSU.

You also can't overclock because there are no heatsinks on the VRM's.

I would get a better quality power supply to run your setup.

The board can't be used for overclocking very poor thermal and power design.

OCing requires more power, and the whole setup can heat up while providing those, so there're heatsinks to cool those (ie, thermals), and the board mentioned doesn't have good enough thermals and power for OCing.
