Best CPU for b85 mobo

Hey guys,
I'm considering buying a new cpu for my mobo - msi b85 g43 (my current CPU is i5 4460)
and my question is... what cpu with best price/performance should I buy?

My first choice is Xeon E3-1231v3 because I've heard that it's just like an i7 without the integrated graphics and the pricing is good...

What you think?

I'd personally just stick with the I5. Mid range cpu, low range motherboard. However, a xeon e3-1231v3 would work too, giving a decent performance upgrade in multi threaded applications. It's in the best spot, price/performance wise.

That xeon is a great choice. The B85 boards are very good in my experience. Despite what some people think, there are very little in terms of performance between different motherboards.

The Xeon is a good choice, if you want better multithreaded performance. Otherwise, your i5 is still just fine.

Well I'm buying this new gtx 970 gpu but I worry a little bit about my cpu... don't know if CPU can handle it...
will there be a bottleneck if I stick with the i5 ?

Not at all. I am not sure where all this concern of bottlenecking with near top of the line CPU's is coming from lately, but it really makes me SMH. :lol:
