I5 2500K with a GTX 970 WIll there be a bottleneck

My current specs are
Asus Z68 MB with i5 2500K @ stock 3.3Ghz
8gig ddr3 1600mhz
Corsair TX v2 750W
1080p monitor
GTX 570

I will continue using a 1080p monitor and was wondering if a GTX970 would be a good GPU upgrade
Will the i5 2500K bottleneck the system on 1080p??

Sure, no bottleneck if you overclock, and probably still none if you don't.

Nope. I dont think u need to overclock it as ur cpu has Turbo Boost and it overclocks till 3.7Ghz i guess. But check ingame if ur card is unable to hit 99% in games like battlefield 4 multiplayer.

No, the 2500k will have no problem with that. I would recommend getting a good cpu cooler and overclocking though - the 2500k overclocks like a beast!

Just placed my order for a MSI Twin Freezer 5 GTX 970

Just FYI, i currently have a Hyper 212 Evo so the option to overclock is always there
The Z68 are just crap to overclock though

Not true, Z68 are superb to overclock! I had my 2500k overclocked to 4.6ghz on my z68 board for years (my gigabyte z68 board died, but thats a different story).
