Hi guys

My Corsair 1500 died on me, so I am in the market for a new headset.
A quick recap on what I like and did not like about the 1500.

Liked :
Large and comfortable ear-pads. This is a must have.
In line volume control. Not a must have as I have macros set up on keyboard.
Crisp sound.
5.1 surround (not TRUE but still fine). 5.1 is a must have, I do not have a preference to REAL or "FAKE" software surround.

Disliked :
In line volume control buttons failed in weeks.
Lack of deeper sounds and base.
Non-retractable mic, could only be moved to top, which wore out over time and kept falling in front of my face.

I have a few in mind and would like people with first hand experience of these headsets to tell me what their experiences.

Alternate suggestions around my 60-80$ budget are welcome as well, however I am in South Africa, so prices and availability are a bit different.

Considering :
SteelSeries V2. Price : 1000Rand. Crowd favourate I guess.
Coolermaster Storm Sirus S. Price: 1050Rand.
Genius GX Gaming Cavimanus. Price : 730Rand. Seems great value for money, but not sure.

Well thanks all. Hope to get some decent suggestions to add to the consideration list.

EDIT : Lowered my budget in Dollars a bit, SA Rand is a bit weaker than i thought. :D

I saw those, and yes they look amazing, from styling to specs to EVERYTHING.

I just can't justify spending extra on it. 1300Rand here, Logitech pricing is ESPECIALLY out of wack in South Africa.
Although I will consider it. :D

Thanks for the response.

EDIT : Found a cheaper place to get it. So might just get it. Do you have first hand experience with it by any chance?

Well Best Of Luck but its a 7.1 headphone so the price is not that high for a 7.1 if you compare with other companies like razor , steel series and shenizer.

That is true, but Senizer and Razor are ridiculously overpriced anyway.

Probably, just read a few reviews on the G430.
The 7.1 isn't that impressive as its Dolby, but still a nice to have.

I think I am leaning towards it.

Anyone else with input?

Still a bit divided by the fact that the Coolermaster Storm Sirus S has TRUE 5.1 surround, although according to most reviews the headset is a bit base heavy with a lack of clarity.
