1.if you dont have GTX 980 yet :
GTX 970 is more affordable and it is only 10% slower than GTX 980 . If the app/game can benefit from multi-threading , wont be any bottleneck but otherwise yes but a little .

i7 950 is on par with i5 4440 .
2.if you have already had GTX 980 :
Run GPU-Z or MSI Afterburner and see whether the GPU load is 100% .

I already bought the card and it is in shipping. I am planning on upgrading my outdated Motherboard and CPU in a matter of two weeks or so. Do you guys have any recommendations for a good mobo and cpu for gaming?
