Hey everybody!

Recently, I've had my iPhone 4 accidentally sit in a bit of water for around 10 minutes before realizing, and got the phone water damaged. After the phone being water damaged, it did not turn on, so I immediately put the phone in a bag of rice for days, then switched over to silica for another 2 days.

I then brought it to my local repair shop, and turned out it was the battery issue, so I got the battery replaced.

The problem is, AFTER getting the battery replaced and brand new, the phone dies at least x5 faster with everything off(airplane mode, location services off, background app refresh off, etc), slightly overheats, and charges WAY slower than usual. I've noticed that the screen flickers always after the battery replacement.

Is there any way to fix this at all myself? I dont want too bring it back to a repair shop,. Thanks for your help!

In this case i would go to another store just to make sure that battery installed is original and fits your phone.

There might also be corrosion that was undetected by the technician from the water that is causing faulty power delivery.. if this is the case it can be bad news and cause your battery to overheat and fail.
