I've got a Seagate 4tb hard disk, when powering up the hard disk, the power light doesn't work, but it gets connected to the usb with couple of beep sound while connected to pc.The sound stops after few seconds. I think it's a fault of the logic board but I'm not sure. Actually i have no idea of getting it repaired.

Please help me guys!!!
your help is much appreciated...

Hey there, Brana!

I think you are dealing with a faulty external.
If it's not getting power, it's most probably a problem with the USB cable/ power supply or the drive electronics.
I suggest you try to resolve the issue with a different USB cable!
You can also check in the device manager on your computer and see if everything is ok with the USB drivers.
If it's still not working, I'd suggest you contact your manufacturer's tech support for more help.

Hope this helped. :)

Hey there, SuperSoph!

The problem occurred when i was using my external hard drive it got tapped down by me on the table, but it was working normally then after a couple of minutes suddenly the hard's power bulb went off and also the usb was disconnected from the PC. I could here some beep sounds for a minute.

Now my Seagate external 4tb Hard disk is getting power on, but the power light doesn't work. and when i connect to the PC the usb is getting connected but the hard is not recognized and also can hear the temporary beep sounds. I think the hard disk platter might be stuck during the sudden fall off. :(

Hi again, Brana007!

Hard drives are really, really sensitive devices. Even the smallest, insignificant fall can misplace and damage platters on the drive. The sound and the fact that the light on the drive doesn't turn on suggests that it is fatally damaged.
Unfortunately there's not much more that you can do about the external.
I really thing you should contact your manufacturer's tech support or a data recovery company, if you want your data back.

Hope I helped though.
Good luck!
