Destiny Exploration Mode

I have Destiny for PS4, and I cannot find any explore levels. I can see lots of Patrols and what not, but no exploration mode. By the way, I am level 9

Uhh there is no such mode, but patrol acts as an exploration mode. You're free to go anywhere you want except strike-only parts, which mostly are boss or pre-boss areas.

What do you mean with "exploration" mode in the first place, anyway?

One of my friends told me about it, but he meant Patrol mode
