So after building a new rig I have been getting a lot of game crashes and BSOD's. I've tried diagnosing them myself, but so far I've got nothing despite going through lots of steps. The only idea that I have so far is that it might be coming from the GPU as a few BSOD's have pointed towards an nvidia driver file. Here's all the info:

GPU: GTX 770 --MODEL: N770 TF 4GD5/OC
Mobo: GA-B85M-D3H
CPU: Intel E3-1230 v3
PSU; XFX Pro 550w --Transferred from a previous rig
RAM: (16GB) - 4x Crucial 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 --MODEL: ct51264ba160b --Transferred from a previous rig, placed in the same exact order
HDD: WD 1TB Blue --MODEL: wd10ezex-08m2na0
SSD1: Samsung 840 PRO Series 120GB
SSD2: Sandisk 64GB --MODEL: SDSSDP064G --OPERATING SYSTEM ONLY
OS: Windows 7 x64
Monitor 1: NS-L32Q09-10A --Runs @1920x1080 (60)
Monitor 2: Samsung SyncMaster --Runs @1024x768 (60) --Obviously doesn't run the games

Recent BSOD BCCodes: C1, be, 1A, 7e, a, 50
Occur when: Playing games. However, some games seem to not cause it to happen at all anymore (???) while other games never have caused it and further still others seem to make it happen very often.
Games that caused errors but have (at least mostly) stopped: Diablo 3 RoS, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Games that have never caused any error: PixelJunk Eden, 6180 The Moon, Garry's Mod
Games that cause them frequently (<2 hours): Orcs Must Die! 2, The Incredible Adventures of Van Hellsing, Skyrim [HEAVILY MODDED]

Memtest: Ran over 9 full passes, no errors found

Chkdsk: Never turns up anything foul.

Speedfan: Cannot detect voltages or control fans, but here's everything else. Don't ask me what Temp2 is, it's always like that and nothing in the case is that hot (anomaly).

VRAM Test:
Changing video mode to 640x480x16...OK
[9/23/2014 4:59:50 AM] Test started for "Primary Display Driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770)"...
Trying 16bpp RGB:565 mode...OK
Trying 16bpp RGB:555 mode...OK
Trying 16bpp BGR:565 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)
Trying 32bpp RGB:888 mode...OK
Trying 32bpp BGR:888 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)
[9/23/2014 5:09:35 AM] Pass completed (0 errors found).

Drivers: I have tried the drivers the motherboard comes with as well as getting all of the most up to date drivers from the mobo website and the most recent nvidia drivers. This did not seem to help.

So, what have I missed? Any suggestions?

PSU was linked. "XFX Pro 550w"
Yes I have tried setting the BIOS back to factory defaults. I haven't toyed with the BIOS.
No I have not touched the CPU after its installation.
I install the drivers that come with the motherboard as well as windows, then go and install firefox to which I follow up with getting the latest drivers (or in one case leaving them as provided). Obviously I do all the restarts that are needed in between each install.
Yes, I have tried full wipes/reinstalls.

Alright so for some reason 1024x1024 tests turned up nothing, but 1024x512 turned up 2 errors on the first pass and then 0 errors on the second. Here is the log:

Not too sure about the BSOD codes, or that I want to spend time to study them. but if it was me, I would RMA the GPU right away. its a new rig, and this does look like it is a graphic related problem. get a new card would be the best option. on the safe side, if you want, you could also RMA the motherboard along with the GPU, just to make sure it was not the PCI socket problem on the board.

If I recall correctly when I was waiting for my 770 to arrive in the mail, I was using a 560ti in that socket (the only socket) instead and it had nearly identical issues. I figured it was a compatibility thing, but a faulty PCI-E slot is something I hadn't considered. I guess we found the thing I overlooked. Looking at my notes there seems to be almost all of the same bccodes despite the different graphics card (and the first graphics card I KNOW was functional in the previous rig). There are some there that I haven't had with this graphics card, but that goes both ways (this one has ones that the other card didn't). So yeah, it's probably motherboard related =/
Should I still RMA the video card as well, though?

a couple things.......... try this utility. it really works and it's free............ https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php

I run a xeon on my machine. my motherboard actually does fully support it. you might want to check on that and perhaps a BIOS update might help. you should be able to use the Gigabyte BIOS update utility from the desktop. simple and easy. but after you use it go into add/remove programs and uninstall it. I myself have had problems with it wanting to run every time the machine boots ( looking automatically for updates )

lastly, I never liked crucial ballistyx ram if that's what you are running. however, try running with 1 stick and then with 2 until you get 2 sticks that run right.

Curious question, why run 1 stick of RAM after already using memtest for 9 hours to check them out as good?

I checked the PCPartpicker setup I had for my rig. Turns out RAM wasn't entered in. Considering the model I'm using is still being sold at multiple places, it not showing up under the compatible list probably should set off some alarm bells.

I'm ordering new RAM that is listed as compatible. I wish I had just removed all but 1 stick to begin with, rather than do every other test known to man first. This is why I don't try to help people lol.
Just to keep it on record, I'm running on two sticks of RAM on the first and third slot (the black dual channel) without issue right now. Testing each slot individually (so single channel) worked out fine, so it has to be the RAM itself. I don't know if one of them went bad during transfer from machine to machine or if it's a straight up compatibility error, but frankly at this point I don't care and I really don't care to test it out. I know I have 2 working sticks in a working configuration and the new RAM I ordered is also 2 sticks in dual channel, so they're just going in the same slots.
Thanks for suggesting the really dumb thing I should have done in the first place.
