My uverse WAP is in a closet so far away from the wireless receivers which causes a bad signal to the tv. What can I do to get a better signal to the wireless receiver? Can I connect the wap to my other router downstairs?

Solution

How is this other router connected to the main Uverse router? Other manufacturer's routers are usually not recommended when connecting receivers since they are required to be multicast aware. It won't hurt to try though.

I've also seen the WAPs connected to the Ethernet port on wired receivers (set-top boxes). I don't think it's recommended to be connected that way, but if you have a wired receiver closer to the wireless one than where the WAP is currently located, it's worth a try. I have seen it work well that way.
