Hello,
I would like to purchase a Sony KDL-32R410b.This tv has only two hdmi inputs , one is HDMI MHL other is HDMI ARC.And does not have the option to switch off the ARC function.

For the moment I have a dvd player with a regular plug HDMI output.I do not own a receiver compatible with the ARC function.

Can I connect my dvd player to ARC TV HDMI socket?
It can cause damage to the TV via HDMI (dvd)-> HDMI-ARC (tv) connection?
Can there be any HDMI compatibility issue between the TV and the DVD player in this case?
I'll be able to have audio and video signal to tv?

Of course this tv has many other connectors, but I am interested in only the hdmi connection.

I would appreciate detailed suggestions, thanks

ARC functionality is optional. Brings the capability to send audio back to the source if needed, but it's not mandatory. All HDMI ports in the future will probably have ARC capability.
