Recently when I have gone to play a video file on my computer (avi, mp4, and wmv) after WMP starts up, only the first second of video plays and then the image freezes and the audio continues. I have found that it will play normal if is is fully windowed, but it freezes in both windowed and full screen mode. What do I do? I am a YouTuber and being able to view my videos is pretty important.

There are some codecs that WMP just has trouble with. If a car engine doesn't accept diesel fuel, and a mechanic tells you that you need a different engine or diesel fuel won't work... is this going around the problem?

Do you install auto updates regularly? It may have updated itself and fudged up it's own codecs... Go to control panel, programs, click on "View installed updates" in the upper left corner, and see if some sort of update for WMP was installed. If so I would uninstall that, which effectively rolls it back to the original/previous version.

Can you update WMP to a newer version then? I'm not very familiar with WMP, I use VLC myself. WMP just doesn't come with all codecs required to play certain formats (.mkv and so-forth), but if yours is freezing with every kind of video format then there might be something else going on besides just codec issues. I would try to update it if you can
