Hi Just a quickie ( I hope)
I have a GA-990FXA-UD3/fx8350 black edition cpu. I have raid set up in bios on 0 - 4 . Everything is now running fine. I just got a SDD drive for the operating system which is currently on SATA 0 on a standard 7200 HDD.
For best performance of the SDD I was wondering where to put it? I don't use a DVD or anything in the box. Those are USB so I was thinking to maybe switch the SATA 4- 5 from IDE to AHCI Put the SDD on one of those and burn my system image over to that.
If I just put it onto SATA 0 would it in fact be not performing to its full potential ?
I don't mind re installing Windows if I have to but rather not :)

Cheers to and thanks to one and all

If the current OS drive is not part of a RAID array, you should be able to clone the OS drive to the SSD using EaseUs Todo Backup Free from HERE. You will first want to do a file clean up and run something like CCleaner to delete caches and temp files.

You may need a system repair disc to make the drive change work properly. Since you don't have an optical drive you can't make a system repair disk, so you will need an installer disk on a USB just in case.
