I know this question is stupid but I'm not good with computers.
So I was looking for a PSU for my old PC and there are some which have PATA cables and other Molex cables, are they somewhat related or they are two different things?

PATA (parallel- Advanced technology atachment) cables are used namely in the HDD, cd-roms and floppy disks in the old comps and are not used now days cause they have been replaced by the faster, smaller SATA cables which is nowdays being used in hdds and cdroms. While the molex cables power the fans, the gpu(using a converter) and someother extra components you may wanna add. Almost the same thing.

PATA and SATA cables are used to transfer Data from one device to another Molex and SATA Power cables provide energy for a device to work. They can be connected to any number and types of devices inside your system. And yes SATA has two different types of cables. Power and Data the data cable is about half the width of the power cable.
