Hello all, me again... :D

SO since i installed this cpu my PC crash once every day, just freeze up and all i can do is hit restart button. I havnt OC'd or anything. Most of the times i have HWMonitor on and playing Planetside2. Like 20mins ago it froze agai, was opening an rar file on my slave hdd and it froze again.

It doesnt freeze up in game, but when i sometimes alt tab or exit it.

I didnt reinstall windows when upgraded my cpu!

SO what can be a problem? isnt overheating as after hours of gameplay i hit 40C max.

Solution
CPU problems don't easily cause sudden lockups on their own... So... Before we get there, let's test a few things.

Run the blend test of Prime95 for 10 minutes. This will indicate if your memory is stable. Sometimes timings need tweaking.
Run the smallFFT test of Prime 95 for 10 minutes. This will indicate if your CPU itself is stable.

I dont know how to do it properly, plus gigabyte have only beta driver for bios and there is no explanation what that update does. But ive read, that rev 4 already comes with supporting fx cpus....but i really dont know anything about bios stuff...

Ok, so gigabyte homepage have F3h. 2014/08/27. 1) Beta BIOS 2)Update CPU AGESA code

I have @BIOS that offers only same update that i already have...i think: AMD 990FX AMI BIOS, Ver F2

and my current one is American Megatrends Inc. F2. 7/15/2013

So safest way is to wait for that update to hit @BIOS so i can update my bios without fkn up anything?!

I have the same problem and i am currently trying to find a solution as well. So far i have maxed out the temperature of the cpu at 40 Celsius before freezing, same as you. Imma try bios update see if that fixes it. I have an evo 212 hyper master. IF you got it fixed let me know how cause it is ticking me off.

Hi Martins,

I have exactly the same problem like you

My mobo is sabertooth 990fx rev 1 and CPU is FX 8370

Would you please help me how much timing and voltage did you add to your CPU and Mobo ?

Heya. Sorry its been quite some time and im already on new system. but here is thread from forums what helped me! http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/751146-phenom-II-x4-965-to-fx-8370-problem

I think this was the right thing - I wouldn't be surprised if the issues you were having were related to the Kingston ram. So lets set it up and see if we can get it to run correctly. Try the 11-12-11 @ 2133 profile but set 1.65v and I would also set 1.25v in bios for the CPU-NB. This should run it without too much issue. Then try P95 again and see how it goes.

Hi,

My Ram is GSkill Sniper 2x4Gb 1600Mhz. Anyone every thing is fine when running with my old phenom 2 x6 1090T. After swapped to FX 8370, shit begin to hit the fan :(

Ok it's not a motherboard problem. Lol.

Start by setting everything to auto, or manually setting the default timings and voltage of the RAM. It should be stable. If it's not, try lowering the frequency to 1333 for the time being.

Also make sure you used the recommended slots.

Asus motherboards can be picky with memory from time to time.

Well, after cleared CMOS, the CPU is working now. However I have another problem, on the Asus mobo there is memory check light, the computer is refusing to boot and the memory check light is red solid, and it's happen randomly. How to fix it? Increase more voltage to ram?

fx series have problems and time to set up properly, in most cases you have to increase something in bios. For ram i fixed that problem by swapping rams. I think i have same rams. On my MAXIMUS VII HERO mobo it didnt work in a-c, so i swapped only rams in same slot and after that b-d slots and it was ok after that.....wont be able to explain why, cos i dont know, but that helped. But increase v to ram can help it too and put proper timings with 1.65v

Try the 11-12-11 @ 2133 profile but set 1.65v and I would also set 1.25v in bios for the CPU-NB
