Hello.

I am currently in the process of building a computer and found this power supply for a really good deal.

Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

However, I have never seen anyone use a Thermaltake PSU in their build and this PSU is not on the PSU Tier Chart. So my question is, is this a good and reliable power supply? Thanks to any replies.

While no-one has yet offered a quality assessment of the Thermaltake in this list, Newegg, today has the Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W on sale for $60 and that's Tier 2 Class A.

Ok, but I would just like to know if this is a good and sturdy PSU.

What do you mean by CapXon capacitors on the secondary? Is that bad for a PSU?

A.K.A. CrapXon. Low quality aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Reflected in slightly higher levels of ripple and noise on the DC outputs.

Ok, does that mean I should avoid this PSU?

You should not buy it. It is not good.

Is that clear enough to you?

I'm using a Thermaltake SP-750M, I looked for credible reviews before buying it considering that it's a lesser used, lower cost brand for PSU's but not necessarily a low quality brand. I can't really speak as to the quality of that specific PSU, but I haven't had any issues at all with my Thermaltake as of yet. Maybe the capacitors are crap in this model too?

Really, this is an injustice. The Best Answer should go to ko888.

What I find most funny is that everyone warns those on the new about low quality PSU's, but never say anything about modular cables not being interchangeable and some people have to learn about that the hard way. Seriously, it makes me lol.
