Hello
So after many years I decided to reformat my PC. I had around 1.5 TB of junk on it so I thought that the time has come. So said and done I reinstalled it. Now after the reinstall I have experienced random freezes. Nothing is responding, not the mouse, not the keyboard, the clock on the PC even stops.
BUT I remember I had this same issue a few years ago with this PC but I managed to fix it. But I just can't remember how I did it. Then I read a thread on this forum and all of a sudden the CPU came to mind. As this usually just happens when I don't put my PC through some for of stress like a video game I remembered this had something to do with my CPU downclocking. I think that this is a feature of the asus motherboard somehow. The problem with my ASUS motherboard is that it doesn't check wether or not my CPU is unlocked. It is not, I have a Core i7 3770. But I'm not 100% sure that this is the problem, I think so.
Any help on how to prevent the downclock of my CPU? Thanks!
