Just got started on my first gaming pc build. and first i installed the stock intel cooler just to check that everything ran good, now that im going to install the h105 i need to remove the thermal paste from the stock cooler. i dont got any isypropyl lying arround and it's kinda hard to come by here in norway, so i just wondered how important it actually is to clean it before you put on a new cooler on. (ofc i have cleaned it pretty good with som paper and i cant raelly see anymore thermal paste it all came pretty easy of, i only started the pc once for about 5 min)

So plz educate me on this ;)

thx in advance!

Sorry for any bad english, it's not my first language and im writing this in a hurry

That's all I use most of the time.
I have used Artic ceramic on a few High temp CPUs, but 2 or 3 degrees less is all you will get at the most, with High performance paste.

I have had a 1"X 1" container of white silicone for 20 years, and it is only half gone.

3mm X 3mm to the rest of the world.

You can probably clean it 99%.
I isn't rocket science.

Can't you get rubbing alcohol, at the drug store?
How about dry gas, you must need that in Norway.

The cheap stuff is methal, DON'T USE That, it might melt something.

The more expensive dry gas, is isypropyl.
It is also the kind made for diesels.

Edit
I only speak English, I'm the stupid one.

I always get a kick out of multi lingual people apologizing for their English.
Just stop it.
