Hi, I`m looking to build a computer for around $500. I am only going to be gaming and I don`t need a case, OS or a Mouse and Keyboard/

You can install a certain bios on that motherboard to overclock the G3258 and that is the most GPU power I can squeeze in.

I'll just throw in an AMD build as they can be a decent option for low budgets. The gpu is very close to the "x" version and although slower in single threaded tasks, the six cores of the fx6300 can be useful in games that like many cores like BF4 or Watchdogs. You can overclock a little bit with the hyper tx3 but if you plan on overclocking a lot I'd suggest something like a hyper 212 evo or a clc like the seidon 120.

If this is gaming and you are willing to spend that much on the CPU(at this level games are much more GPU bound) then an i3 would be better than the FX 6300 for gaming purposes. Also people always forget that it is actually 3 modules with 2 integer cores and a bunch of shared resources which is why Intel's single core performance blows them out of the water.

I'd say it depends on whether the OP is going to overclock, at stock the i3 is on par with the 6300 but if the 6300 is overclocked I think it's a better budget option.

The g3258 build is a great stopgap option if the OP has plans to upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the future

That is a great point that I forgot to mention.
