The PS4 graphics/cpu has an edge over the XB1 since it uses GDDR5 ram compared to the slower XB1's DDR3. I've heard that the PS4 is up to 25% faster than the XB1. At the end of the day, I would still base your choice of console on game selection/controller preference etc. because that is more important.

PS4's CPU can clock up to 2.7Ghz, the XBox One's CPU goes to 1.8Ghz or something. They're both based off the same architectures except the PS4's CPU uses GDDR5 as its system memory, coupled inside a 'Garlic-Onion' pipeline which eliminates the latency that comes from GDDR5 which is designed for graphics tasks. The XBox One uses stock standard DDR3-2133mhz.

the ps4 will run games better and at higher quality but the xbox one is more of a family entertainment console whereas the ps4 is a gaming console. its down to preference in the end

I have both a ps4 and an xbox1. Interface wise, by far I prefer the xbox1. Its cleaner and easier to navigate. Functions very well as the center piece of our entertainment center for tv/netflix/etc. So easy my wife can use it haha!

Games wise I don't know how well I can comment. I buy the consoles for their exclusives like Halo (which I LOVE) and Killzone. Pretty much everything else I play on PC. (BTW - I abhore all the PC masterrace stuff that has popped-up on the net these days....)
