What's the difference?

Solution
The difference is going to be the look of the card itself. (Different stickers, etc.)
Aside from that, its the exact same thing.

As ThrowinCards said, "980," "770," "290x" are just standards for the cards to be called. MSI, Zotac, etc will take those reference cards and pimp them out(normally with improved cooling, in this case, it looks like they just left the stock card alone and pushed it out onto the market.)

Please try to avoid Zotac at all costs. They are both reference design cards and just different manufactures.

Here is how the ranking of cards is:
Tier One Brands(Best) - MSI, EVGA, and ASUS
Tier Two Brands(Next Best) - Gigabyte and PNY
Tier Three Brands(Avoid) - Any other brand

Splendid
From the newegg pics, the Zotac does not have a sticker covering the Nvidia logo above the PCIe contacts, the Gigabyte does.
Seriously they're just reference cards sold by different brands. Them non reference cards will come out later on and that's when you'll see some difference between Zotac and Gigabyte. Right now it's all about how well their customer support is.
