I am building a mini ATX pc mainly for some gaming as well as some light ish video editing and some word proccessing for school. So my question really is if i really need to buy an expensive motherboard or instead buy one that is a bit cheaper as long as it has usb 3.0 and audio input / output jacks and just spend the extra money on a better cpu or gpu. Any help please?

PS: sorry if i sound like a n00b but, well.... i am one when it comes to pcs. :)

I agree.
If you just get the features you really need, you don't sacrifice performance.

An inexpensive board performs the same as an expensive one if you don't overclock.

Excellent boards, can be had for $75, to $100.

If you're not planning on overclocking going a bit cheaper on the Mother Board won't kill you. Just read about the board you're buying before you buy it and make sure it supports the features you're looking for.
