In my country is only selling the GTX 970 from EVGA and GIGABYTE. Models from MSI, Zotac and ASUS have not yet arrived here. The model GIGABYTE is USD $ 150 (I live in Brazil) more expensive than the EVGA. Worth the investment or is it better to wait MSI model arrive here at the end of the month with a competitive price with the model from EVGA? I read several reviews regarding temperature and a bad application of thermal paste on the EVGA model, so I was on the back foot.

Hey man, should I cancel my MSI order and get the Asus Strix instead? It's not as good of an OCer but I love the design & 8 pin power. I can't decide and my order will be shipped today D:

I'm going with the MSI , a lot of good reviews.

I usually go EVGA , but I'm trying a couple of these.

Yeah the MSI seems like the way to go, I just can't decide if 8 pin power and looks are more important to me! I hate that the MSI is plastic and has the PCB exposed.

you know that MSI also has 8 pin power PLUS 6 pin? as for OC that is actually much more potent configuration than single 8 pin...

As for 8 pin, I already stated in previous post, MSI actually wins over ASUS.
Plastic shroud - yea, that is a bummer, yesterday I had put both cards beside each other (my previous was gtx670 OC) and 970 definetely lacks this metal look. But trust me - it does not bother as it is much better looking and than any other there. Beside - the heatpipes and the heatsink itself seems much more sturdy so the shroud itself looks more like cosmetic feature.
btw - dunno if you are in those or not but MSI has nice, led lit dragon logo and MSI on side of it, that you can program from your OS so a bit like Titan feature :)

I just got the MSI in the mail today and I love it. Goes really well with my gaming 5 motherboard. Had the Asus r9 290 with the backplate but I prefer the lighting 970 gives off. Feel like it was a good compromise
