Today I had some new items come in for my old computer, running a i7 920 with 6 gigs of patriot ram, gtx 660, and a noctua fan cooler. Well today I got a cool master cpu cooler along with 12 gigs of gskill ram. I installed both perfect, in working order first go, except I noticed the temps on the cpu were too high. Apon looking, I didn't do a great job with the paste, so I redid it and went to fire it up and got no bios beep. No beeps with gpu out or ram, so I figured mobo is fried. It was a evga x58 ftw3.

I got my old mobo out, x58 sli le and reinstalled everything to how it was. I knew I had to reinstall Windows, thinking I had a Windows 7 dvd, I did not. So I'm stuck trying to install Vista to get to my hard drives to burn a w7 copy. I've never experienced this window before, so I'm rather confused on what's going on. After the initial install is finished, after the first reboot I get this screen, showing the boot manager, all my install attempts in order and with memory diagnostic on the bottom you can tab to. Within a few seconds of letting that screen sit, able to select multiple versions of Vista, it'll goto the loading screen and maybe make a pass on the loading bar and quick blue screen reboot. It has done this with 1 stick of old ram so I'm not sure what is going on. I haven't touched any settings, timings, just load sequence for hdd and and cdrom.

I've installed Windows many times, this computer right now is

X58 sli le
I7 920
2 gigs patriot ram, 1 stick.
Gts 660 msi
Corsair 850 Watt
Ocz 60 gig ssd
Cool master cpu liquid cooler
Cdrom drive

So, after I install, what am I to do? No matter what I try, it all ends up with a reboot. What selection, if any, can I make on the boot manager? I feel something just isn't right. I now have at least 7 Windows Vista's to choose from on this screen, with it just rebooting a constant cycle.

Edit:

So I guess using a different Vista cd helped finish the install. But as soon as it finalized, desktop shows and then it reboots for no reason. Then it goes into a bootloader command, not sure about that screen either. Attempting to install again.
