I have an Msi board and I found out that I can overclock my mt/s to 1600+ to improve ram speed. How can I do this in my bios or Msi extreme tuning utility?

Thanks

What DRAM do you have? The model #? If it's 1600 simply go into BIOS and enable XMP, select profile 1 and the rig will set the sticks up for you....If you have 1333 or lower freq stick, they will have to be OCed which is why we need the model number(s) as you will have to input the voltages and timings manually

I have Kingston hyperx ram oced to 2400mhz 11-12-13-12-2T but I don't have XMP profiles in my bios I just. Have advanced tuning methods.
Will this make a difference because at the moment my CPU won't let my ram go 1mhz higher and I was hoping for higher.
Does XMP change this? Is there a way I can do it manually?

If you are at 2400, why would you want to slow it to 1600?

The CPU comes with a 1333mhz memory controller and I've herd you can overclock it to 1600 1866 2133 and so on.
I want to know how to overclock the CPU memory controller.

You said they are running at 2400, if so it is already well OCed, 1600 is slower and less bandwidth than 2400
