How to store a computer safely

I have a computer that I don't use and I will not be using you for about a year.I am playing to store it away so how can I keep it safe week I will be using it after one year so I don't want it to break it I just built the PC just couple weeks ago how do I keep it safe and dry so it'll be turned on after one year just like new?

I would wrap it up in plastic (this avoids bugs, accidental spills, flood damage, etc) and put silica packets inside the computer to absorb moisture.

If you have the box the computer case came in, that would be great to protect the computer....

Also important is where. An uninsulated attic is less preferable than a dark corner of a closet.

And consider buying a new CMOS battery when you get back. Cheap, and just in case.

I agree with the bag and desiccant, but there would be no point in getting a battery.

Find any spot, need not be cool really, wrap a garbage bag around it, throw in the desiccant and then warp tape around the end of the bag.
