Hello All,

I seem to be having a very bizarre issue with my GPU right now.

When I boot my computer with my case standing up, my GPU doesn't work. Everything works fine if the case is lying on its side. If I boot the computer with the case on its side and then move it upright, the GPU continues to work. But if I turn off the computer again and restart it, the GPU fails to work again. I should note that the GPU's fans are running even when it fails to present a picture.

Plugging into my on-board graphics works both vertical and sideways.

I have tried resetting CMOS, re-seating my GPU multiple times but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I just moved across Canada with the tower so this likely was the cause.

I have tried reseting CMOS,

Clearly your GPU or another component is making contact with the case when is standing up, thus shorting and causing the failure to boot.

Best way to solve this should be to reassemble the whole pc, but you could try to only reseat the GPU first.

It sounds like the slot is loose on the motherboard. Perhaps try taking the weight off the slot with a string or something.

1) Try the card in a different PCIe slot if possible. It may not be the card; it may be the motherboard connector is damaged.

2) Try a different card if possible.
