Hello all, I recently purchased an HP Envy 15t-j100, but upon receiving it, the 3.5 mm jack was not working. The speakers work fine, and when I plug the headphones in, the speakers turn off. But no sound comes from the headphones. I have tried three pairs of headphones, so it is not the headphones. I have also tried re-installing the IDC Audio Codec, (drivers) multiple times.
My full specs:
HP Envy 15t-j100
8gb ddr3-1600 ram
Nvidia Geforce 740M
Intel Core i7-4700MQ
15.6" 1366x768 led backlit display.
Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a bad jack....maybe one that slipped through quality control. Take it back where you purchased it for a replacement.

Are you sure it's not the drivers? Because it know that there are headphones in the jack, but it is not playing any sound.

The jack will "turn off" the speakers when headphones inserted about 1/2 way into the jack. That is one part of the switch. The actual output is three wires that make contact with the headphones (inserted fully into the jack) - left, right and ground. If the ground is not connected - no sound....but it will turn off the speakers.
