USB 3.0 Hub - can't find what I'm looking for.

Hi all, I'm struggling to find what I'm looking for, I might just be blind though! The USB ports at the front of my case, 3/4 of now broken after years of abuse (two ruined my headset cable yanks, one by someone rest their foot on my PC and bending the port down!!).

I would like a 4/6/8 USB hub that can sit on my desk, with a decent length cable that goes direct to motherboard header, rather than into an existing USB 3.0.

I believe this way it wouldn't need external power also?

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

You will need 2 parts:

The first item connects to the mobo to a drive-bay, the second goes from the drive bay to the desktop.

Thanks, I'm aware of that option but I was looking to cut out all that and have an option that goes straight to the motherboard. I don't want 5 items going through one port on the case really, I also want to avoid an external power supply.

Cheers anyway! Dan

Almost everything out there is either a drive-bay adapter or a slot cover adapter. Nothing I have ever seen was a plug into the mobo header USB hub (but hey - there could be one.....)

Most USB 3.0 Hubs are powered (you don't have to use the power adapter unless you want fast charging of USB devices - 2.0A output).

Or replace the case. Probably easier than trying to find something that doesnt exist

Or get something like this for the front if it has a bay

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p20... you'll have a card reader as well

Some of these things also come with a USB 3 PCI card where you can plug into the back as well
