Best budget cpu with out overclocking

Solution

The CPU and Mobo set up that you have now is fine, and it leaves room for expanding in the near or far future. Without a microcenter near you you won't get any better deals and CPU + MOBO. You can try shopping on ebay for parts, they are a lot cheaper. I'm using eBay to upgrade my pc and its working fine.

Don't believe whoever told you that the AMD FX 6300 is bad, stock speed is 3.5ghz and goes to 4.1ghz at max without overclocking at all. The 6300 with the 7850 is a great pair and I would go for it. Do you have a Microcenter near you?

And your build is pretty solid too. You should probably get a PSU with more wattage though, because the 7850 can get power hungry at times. but it's not completely necessary.

It is a good processor, but for the price the fx 6300 will get the job done well when its paired with the 7850, and it is also within his budget, unlike the fx 8320 which will put him over his budget with a mobo by about $20. If you are willing to spend a bit more for the 8320 then i would suggest that you go for it. in my opinion, neither processor will fail you.

I would go with something more like this. You get a better upgrade path and GPU.
