I went with EVGA for my previous card, and I had no problems. However, I'm a sucker for aesthetics, and the Zotac Amp Extreme Edition looks amazing... Should I stick with what I know is good? My case is the NZXT H440, so I don't have the best airflow.

Neither of them would be as good as the Gigabyte Windforce GTX 980. TRIFORCE FTW!!!!

Neither of the links work.
I would recommend MSI, I used to recommend EVGA but they had a bit of a miss on the 9xx launches, misaligned coolers, but MSI has really picked up their game. Plus you know, mousepad.

FYI, the stock GTX980 only averages 14% faster for gaming than a GTX970 and costs about 67% more. I think the best I've seen it do is 19% faster.

The Gigabyte card is nice for sure, but you pay for that higher performance with increased noise. Some people might not care.

Also, the Gigabyte one is a bit more money at $630 which is almost the cost of two Asus Strix GTX970 cards so you could go 2xSLI instead. The Asus Strix fans can even turn off so you can have zero noise in idle and light usage.

So for almost the same price you're going to get up to 50% higher frame rates in games that use SLI well (2xGTX970 vs GTX980).

Lots of great answers guys. I'm not big on overclocking, so I'm gonna stick with the 980. However, I'm still gonna do some more research on which model to get! Thanks for all of the input!

I'm ordering 980's for Sli as soon as Asus puts out there DCUii 980's.

They're worth it if you want the most out of your card, or if you're gaming at higher res.

I would definitely go with the Zotac one, specifically the GTX980 AMP! Omega.
Take a look at the latest review here, highest clocked GTX980 available today with highest quality build.
