Fingerprint on CPU question

So.... I got a fingerprint on the top of my CPU and I haven't put on thermal paste or installed the CPU cooler yet. Will the fingerprint damage anything? Do I need to clean it off and is it a big deal? If I don't how many degrees Celsius would the CPU go up?

Damage, not likely, clean, yes.
The fingerprint is simply oil from your finger left behind on the CPU, which will disrupt the contact between paste and IHS. Just use some alcohol as you would clean any CPU.

So about how many degrees of the CPU temperature will it affect?
