I recently bought a D-Link router : http://www.dlink.co.in/products/?pid=451.
However, fiber internet was made available to the area where I live right after I bought this router (I currently have an ADSL connection). It has 4 LAN ports and one DSL port. Is there any chance that this could support a fiber connection?I know this must be a pretty noob-ish question ._. .
But,please, help.

Check with your telco provider. Depends on a lot on the speeds, connections used, and other stuff.

If the router doesn't have an RJ45 WAN port, which according to the users manual, it doesn't. Then it probably won't work with fiber internet. Your fiber internet will use a standard ethernet (RJ45) for the WAN connection. Get something like this if you need to. But your fiber internet may include a wireless router as part of the package.

Your ADSL router will not work.
If you're switching to fiber, they will either include one, or they will have a list of applicable, supported routers.
