Windows 8.1
Duo E8200 CPU
4gb 1333 RAM
750w artic blue PSU
280x GV-R928XOC-3GD Graphics Card
ASUS P5G41-T LX MOBO

Hi, I've just brought a new graphics card and PSU to go with it but am having trouble installing the drivers. The one on the disc gives me a black screen during install and after awhile windows msg comes up saying PC ran into a problem and the driver basicly didn't get installed. I have tried the latest beta and a couple of the older ones with no sucsess . each time I get a black screen. I wipe the HDD and reinstall a fresh windows after every failed attempt.

Did I buy a cheap PSU? But then I Works fine on the windows display drivers?

Do I buy windows 7 as I've heard 8 can b a pain?

Or is it what I fear the most. Pc's backbone cant take the thought of a 280x shoved in it?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Andy

I think the problem is that your motherboard doesn't have the right PCI slot to support the GPU and as a result the GPU cannot function properly. It certainly shouldn't be a power supply issue, that is for sure
