Im planning on upgrading my asus ram http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_VivoBook_S500CA/ and im afraid to buy the wrong kind of ram and my laptop wont work after that. I was planning on buying the CORSAIR Memory Notebook 4GB DDR3 PC-12800 Is this ram compatible with my laptop Ram Slot? and can anyone tell me whats the max ram capacity of my laptop? And one more thing, should i change my current ram? its a ELPIDA 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800S. Thanks in advance.

Solution
The 4GB Crucial should be fine. If you can get two identical modules, that would be better, but if you have to go with only one for budget reasons, that should work fine. Either one of those modules will work very well.
How much RAM is currently in your system? There is 2GB integrated memory and the slot for additional memory supports up to a 4GB module. If you currently have 6GB there is no upgrade possible. If you currently have 2 or 4 GB total, then that memory will work but you will need to remove your 2GB module.

So will this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $34.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

currently there is a 4gb elpida ddr 3 pc3-12800s ram in my computer, I have been researching yesterday and they say the max capacity for my ram is 8gigs, and i opened my laptop yesterday and there is a empty ram slot.

No, as notations on the page you linked to clearly state that 6GB is the max RAM as indicated by *Note1 in the specs and on other pages as well. The empty slot will only support a 4GB module. Nothing more. The other 2GB is integrated memory and cannot be removed or changed by the user. Unless you are linking to the wrong model of laptop something here is not right. Either you are mistaken about the RAM in your unit and the slot count or you have a model that is different from the one you linked to.

In the specs on that page it plainly states there is 1x dimm slot and 2GB onboard memory. What is the EXACT model number, not just the base model number, for your unit? It may be that your unit has a different configuration than what is indicated for the base model or that possibly you've linked to a slightly different unit.

oh yes im sorry i got the model number wrong it should be S500CB http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_VivoBook_S550CB/specifications/ it says 8GB is the max capacity for the ram

Ok, so this will give you a total of 8GB using your current memory with it:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Memory: Kingston 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($38.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $38.99

This might be better, considering they are the same module, but they won't be matched sets, so it may or may not operate in dual channel:
http://www.amazon.com/ELPIDA-PC3-12800S-SODIMM-MEMORY-EBJ40UG8BBU0-GN-F/dp/B00C0XVRT8

This will be a matched set, giving you dual channel mode, if that configuration supports it which indications are that it does. Worst case scenario, the system will have a higher probability of performing without issues using a tested match set:

Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($76.15 @ B&H)
Total: $76.15
