Everytime you build a PC you have the option to choose an affordable motherboard or a really expensive one with many functionalities.
For the Haswell proccessors you can even find 70$ motherboards. For the new-realesed Haswell-E proccessors I couldn't find something even close to that, because the prices are starting in 250$ for X99 chipset.
My question is - should I expect the prices to go down? Do you think that in the coming weeks we will see cheaper motherboards with these chipsets?
Thanks.

ASRock X99 Extreme4 is the best your going to get for the price. Intels X boards are all for their top of the range processors so don't expect them to come cheaply.

Good thing about my current CPU is that all the X79 boards are far cheaper and when DDR4 is more widely accepted so will the price of DDR3 ram. If you want a Hex core processor right now get yourself a 4930k and a good X79 motherboard, heaps of good ones for $250.

X99 as well as the old X79 and X59 are all high-end, enthusiast class or whatever you want to call it. It is not only gaming, but mainly for cheap Xeon type of performance for less money. They always cost more and are considered a premium product. The lowest I have seen from this type of high end desktop motherboards is $179 after a ton of discounts when a chipset was phased out. You are better off buying one now. waiting an year for 20-30-40 bucks reduction is not worth it, when you consider the overall price of the machine. A descent amount of DDR4 memory is more costly than the motherboard anyway. Cheers.
