1) Can I run Linx (or Prime95), furmark and memtest in my laptop?
2) Why shouldn't I always use hibernate instead of shutdown?

1) Yes you can! but keep in mind that laptops tend to get hot and fast. As for memtest, i run mine from a bootable USB, this might require going into the BIOS and changing boot priority.

2) Hibernation "locks" up about 4-16 GB of space on your drive while shut down obviously doesn't. Its a matter of prefrance, my laptop runs a small SSD and every GB matters to me, so my hibernation is turned off. Other than that there is nothing stopping you for hibernating if you need it.

Okay. My CPU hits 65 C and GPU hits 70 C when playing games (splinter cell conviction) for hours. Will furmark and linx make damage to my components?

Make sure to check the maximum recommended temperature before running artificial load, bench-marking/stability software puts a 100% load on your components, something a game will never do other than occasional spikes in performance.
