Hey, first time poster here!

I'm looking for some solid ideas about my next project, which is building a do-it-all mITX system that can replace my ps4.

I want the build as cheap as possible, but with the ability to play my games at high settings with 30+ fps. This will be a 3D system, and I have found ODD's so that will not be the focus of this post.

CPU: I have looked into the pentiums, various FX CPUs, and i3's. I'd like to go for the cheapest possible but my concern with the G238 is even if it's OC'd that it would still not handle games at near max settings, plus I would be forced to spend a decent amount on a cooler. Next in line is probably FX as I'm told they smoke intel in the sub $200 range.

Cooler: Dependent on CPU I suppose

GPU: Basically is a gtx 750 ti enough for the gaming / 3D 1080p?

RAM: Pretty easy choice, though I'm sure 6gb is enough I'll get the relatively cheap 8gb 1600 sticks.

Case/PSU: My first choice is an EVGA Hadron (though that ncase m1 sure I sweet right?!), but I'm open to suggestions as long as the case has spaces for fans/radiators, ODD, and is mostly inconspicuous.

I appreciate all comments, so thank you in advance!

Hello,

If you want high settings with 30+ FPS as minimum, I'd go with i3/ i5 non-K build. I'd rather stay away from FX as they produce heat, require an af cooler for OCing, and without OCing, FX 6 loses to i3. FX 8 loses to i5 w/o OC. Why even bother for a $150 case unless you're absolutely particular about looks?

CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock H97M-ITX/AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($82.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($78.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($129.99 @ NCIX US)

Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($44.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $476.93

Would give you the desired results, better than FX 6 on stock, even with some OC. Cool, quiet, stable system.

My main reason for the Hadron is size, fans/radiators, and the integrated gold rated PSU, but the price is right on what you linked. Only thing I don't like about that PSU is not being modular. I actually have never used pcpartspicker but I will be now. Awesome. Thanks for the input, I'm more confident about the i3's now.
