Is it possible to build a decent PC capable of Netflix, Office, and general web surfing? Linux is finally able to handle all that with extensive command line use, and LibreOffice is also free. That leaves getting hardware for $300. The AMD A series looks very interesting to me.

Solution
Pretty similar to Meteorsraining's build. Just some variance.

This build is good, nice PSU with dual-channel RAM which is better than single channel.

Thanks guys. It's been a few years since I built a PC and out of the loop. As a student I can get any MS product legit and free, so I plan on building a triple boot system. Linux Mint, Win 7, and Android x86.

BTW, my former boss is still using a PC I built. Not sure when exactly, but it was when a 4x cd burner came down to only $100!
