How much is your budget? An Intel build can be gotten.

For your Power Supply I would recommend:

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply.

It is on the list above as Tier 1 and is pretty well reviewed. The P2 is the platinum certified, the G2 is the gold certified. I would go platinum although both are Tier 1 PSU's.

A 1000 watt PSU is super overkill for one GPU, especially a new 970. You could run it on a 650 watt unit, or even a 550 watt unit with minimal overclocking.

You would need 750 watts for SLI, though.

Not with 970s. With an 8350 and 3 GTX 970s, the power draw is ~659watts. One 970 and an 8350 draws an estimated 369 watts. So to revise my last post, you could get a 450 watt PSU.

That is NOT true. PCPartPicker only considers the initial, if you can say, power consumption of the parts. When the GPUs go into load, they will consume MUCH more power.
